If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with the quality of the cable TV that you receive, you certainly have no idea what you are complaining about. Before it became so popular and readily available, you only had three television channels to choose from.

If you did not like soap operas that were shown in the afternoon, too bad, there was not anything else on. Maybe game shows are not your thing; well most of the stations back then all programmed the game shows at exactly the same time.

Some people really do not like to watch the news; regardless if it is the local or the national variety. If you happen to be one of those that falls into that category, only a few decades ago either you learned to like it, or you turned you TV off for a while.

Today, there are a ton of sports enthusiast that could not live without their cable TV connection. If you happen to be one of them, we certainly hope that you do not work on Saturday or Sunday, because those were the only days when any sports at all were showed on television before cable TV.

The reality shows have really but really taken off in the past few years. If somebody in your family likes to sit down and watch every one of them, you certainly can thank cable TV for that. If you know more about history than you did when you were in high school studying it, more than likely it is because of the History channel, which of course is a cable television station.

Back in the day when there were only three television stations, if you enjoyed shows about nature and animals, they were broadcast about once a week or so. You certainly could not enjoy one of them almost every time you turn on your set, like you now can.

When it comes to watching movies on the TV, hopefully you are always home on Sunday night, because that is when most of them were showed. If not, then you just were out of luck and could not watch too many of them at all.

Cable TV has significantly improved not only the quantity, but the quality of the entertainment that all of us can enjoy in our very own home. The next time you sit down in front of your television and begin to wish there was more to watch just try and think what it was like just only a few decades ago.
