Movie Review: Wrath Of The Titans
Article By: Li Ping Irene Yap

Wrath Of The Titans, the long-awaited sequel to the 2010 epic 'Clash Of The Titans' is scheduled to appear in theaters March 30, 2012. But director, Jonathan Liebesman, has already dropped one spoiler on us that might ruin it for everyone - the trident that Zeus, played by Liam Neeson, is carrying is only one of many celestial weapons needed to create an mega-weapon-of-the-gods. There. Now doen't that make you just want to skip the whole movie?

When Wrath Of Titans opens, it's 10 years after Perseus has defeated the diabolical Kraken. Perseus, you might remember, is the demigod son of Zeus and he's living the quiet life of a fisherman. He's also a single parent to his son, Helius.

While Perseus is fishing and raising his son, there's a war being waged between the gods and the Titans. The gods are growing weak because humans no longer worship them like the used to and, as a result, the gods are losing their power over the Titans they hold in prison, and the leader of the Titans, Kronos. Kronos is the father of Zeus, Hades and Poseidon, the 3 ruling gods. These 3 gods had overthrown Kronos years ago and left him to rot in a dungeon that lies deep inside the cavernous world of Tartarus.

Eventually, Perseus is pulled from his peaceful existence and thrust into the service of the gods and called upon to battle the Titans and rescue Zeus from his hell-on-Earth grave. And, of course, the continued existence of mankind is at stake.

Will Zeus be able to conquer the Titans, rescue Zeus and save mankind? Only time will tell!

Wrath Of The Titans is an adventure movie based on myths about gods, goddesses and monsters - namely the Kraken. And a good myth has to be backed up by a wondrous adventure. And what could make an onscreen adventure - with monsters and bloody battles and mega-weapons-of-the-gods - the ultimate adventure? Why 3D, of course.

That's right. Wrath Of The Titans will be shown in 3D when it hits theaters so be prepared for some real action. If you're not a fan of 3D, don't worry. You'll also have the option of watching in 2D. It's being billed as a fantasy-action-adventure film which only makes sense when the one action shot we've seen is of Liam Neeson running directly at the screen, in full armor, getting ready to skewer us on that darned trident.

The cast includes Liam Neeson as Perseus, Toby Kebbel as Argenor, Bill Nighy as Hephaestus, and Edgar Ramirez as Ares. All members from the previous cast are back except Alexa Davalos who originally portrayed Queen Andromeda. In Wrath Of The Titans the roll goes to Rosamund Pike.

Original Article URL: Movie Review: Wrath Of The Titans

Find out more movie comments for Wrath of the Titans.
